Overview

The Technology Fund Program provides resources to help schools proactively replace aging computers and other hardware. Schools receive an annual allocation based on overall enrollment and the percentage of students eligible for free/reduced-price meals.

2019-20 Technology Fund Allocation

Program allocations have been posted. To access Technology Fund resources all sites must:

Meet annually with IT leadership to review site technology goals and initiatives, and
Fulfill participation requirements for IT surveys (BrightBytes) and programs (TAC/Ed Tech Mentors).

Allocation Calculation

School site allocations are determined by: enrollment, percentage of students in poverty and available funding. Total program funds in 2019-20 are are $750,000. Numbers may be adjusted in the fall based on actual enrollment. In addition to the current year allocation, balances reflect adjustments from prior year carryover funds and incentive programs (e.g., high participation rates in the BrightBytes survey).

Eligible Products

Eligible Purchases Include: IUSD standard Windows desktop computers and laptops; IUSD standard Chromebooks; approved iPads; computer peripherals (headsets, keyboards, mice, monitors, cables, carts); approved parts and components to repair or upgrade existing standard equipment; printers. All purchases must be district-approved standards to be eligible.

Ineligible Purchases Include: Toner, document cameras, most software, non-standard laptops. tablets, Chromebooks and desktops.

Process

Step 1

Schedule Site Planning Meeting :

Email carollynnpatist@iusd.org to schedule your site planning meeting with IT. Please include available dates and times that work for your site technology/leadership team.

Step 2

Check Funding :

To view the amounts you qualify for, please click on the "Technology Fund Allocations " link on this page. Current balances will be viewable in your school site budget in the cost center 01-XXX49426-XXXX.

Step 3

Make Purchases :

Submit a PO by the purchase deadline for eligible technology using the available funds in your school budget. You may combine the Technology Fund resource (01-XXX49426-XXXX) with any other available site funds to make a purchase.
All technology purchases will be reviewed against current IT supported standards for equipment and software. Purchases using Technology Fund resources will be reviewed against program eligibility criteria.
